After so many rumors, leaks and “reliable” reports, codenamed HTC M7, the HTC One has been finally announced by HTC on an event in New York City on Tuesday. Being the next flagship Android smartphone and the successor of HTC One X family, the HTC One sticks closely to the company’s tradition of wowing fans with lofty specs, but it also innovates dramatically in a couple of key areas. “We think it’s time to shake things up in the smartphone space,” Mike Woodward, President of HTC America, told ABC News in an interview about this new HTC One. “We have decided to come out and reinvent the smartphone.”

The 4.7-inch 1080P full HD LCD display with up to 468ppi would surely bring bright, crisp, and beautiful visual effect for users, just like any other wonderful smartphones in the marketplace. No matter what angle you look at it from, this smartphone would deliver you amazing images. Thus, if you want to watch HD movies on HTC One, full HD movie entertainment could be available.

HTC is betting big on the One’s camera capabilities, which revolve around a custom-developed imaging sensor with enlarged pixels that can absorb roughly three times more light than those inside a conventional 8-megapixel camera. These UltraPixels, as the company calls them, will make for a major leap in low-light performance, however they do limit the resolution of any photos you take with the HTC One to 4 megapixels.

Being a flagship, the HTC One will naturally come equipped with 4G connectivity, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 SoC quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage as standard (a 64GB variant is planned for the APAC region), a 2300mAh battery, GPS and GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and even 802.11ac Wi-Fi. As for the software, the HTC One would come with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and HTC’s Sense UI.

The HTC One will be available in a choice of silver or black starting in the latter half of March. HTC is aiming for a truly global release, having signed up a total of 185 carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint in the US. Though it’s reported that the higher-capacity HTC One was planned for Asian markets only, AT&T now says it will offer both a 32GB and a 64GB model.

  • HTC announced the HTC One series on MWC 2012, including HTC One X, HTC One S and HTC One V

Posted on February 27th, 2012 David Brooks No comments

With the opening of the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2012, HTC officially released its latest HTC One series, including three fresh new smartphones: the quad-core flagship HTC One X, ultra-slim HTC One S, and the music oriented HTC One V smartphone for the mid-range smartphone market. The flagship phone One X is the most impressive on paper, but the One S isn’t far behind it as a next-gen phone. The One V is their lowest level of the three, yet still manages to include Beats audio and an extremely slim body while maintains the unique look of the once iconic HTC Legend. I would like to make a brief introduction about these three new smartphones:

HTC One series releaseHTC One X: What was rumored has now been officially confirmed on the spec front. HTC seems to make this HTC One X a wonderful smartphone for users to enjoy HD movies on HTC One X due to its excellent configuration. The device will rock a 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor (in most of the world), 1GB of RAM, Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4.0, a 4.7″Super LCD 2 HD screen with Gorilla Glass, NFC chip, 32GB of storage, 1800mAh non-removable battery, Beats audio, 8MP camera with F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens, and is ridiculously thin at 8.9mm. It will begin to ship globally in April. AT&T has this one locked up in the U.S. though. Click to get the exactly detailed specs of HTC One X.

HTC One S: Though not as the flagship smartphone HTC One X, the One S should not be overlooked. Rocking Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 dual-core chipset, this phone is as powerful as any other phone we have seen come to life thus far. It also has a 4.3″qHD display with Gorilla Glass, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, Android 4.0 with Sense 4.0, Beats audio, the same amazing 8MP camera as the One X, 1650mAh battery, and an unbelievably thin 7.8mm body, which may produce even better digital experience for users, like to watch DVD movies on HTC One S. HTC went with an ultra-matte black Ceramic Metal surface that is harder than aluminum and will keep better over time. The One S will also be shipped in April, heading to T-Mobile in the U.S.

HTC One V: Utilizing the classic, award-winning design of the HTC Legend, the HTC One V brings top-end design to a smartphone with broad appeal and a premium experience that delivers an amazing camera and authentic sound. It features a simple, iconic aluminum unibody design that exudes craftsmanship and quality. The One V is HTC’s budget phone for early 2012. It has a single-core processor and 512MB of RAM, yet still runs Android 4.0 and a similarly amazing camera to the One S and One X.
