• Cortana Is On its Way to Android Lockscreen

Posted on January 18th, 2017 admin No comments

Cortana will soon be updated to be on the lockscreen on Android smartphones, according to MsPoweruser. Microsoft recently released a new update for Cortana for iOS and Android, which has a totally redisigned user interface.

According to MsPoweruser, the new version of Cortana would provide users with the option to enable Cortana on the lockscreen inside of the setup menu. “After that, a simple Cortana logo will show up near the bottom of your lock screen and you can swipe the logo left or right to open up the Cortana panel,” the website explained.

When you go to the splash screen, there would be information provided to you from Cortana, including things like the weather, upcoming appointments and other data that comes from the information you’ve provided in the Cortana Notebook on your phone or PC.

Microsoft has been planning to bring Cortana everywhere and this is just a small part of the plan. What we are really expecting from Microsoft is what Cortana can do around the house because currently the similiar home assistants we can think of are Google Home and Amazon Echo. But it’s good to know that Microsoft has a good start bringing Cortana to more places.

  • Dimension of Samsung Galaxy S8 is Allegedly Wider Than That of S7

Posted on January 17th, 2017 admin No comments

According to a report published, the alleged dimensions of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is wider that of their predecessor Samsung Galaxy S7. The dimension for Galaxy S8 will reportedly be 140.14 x 72.20 x 7.30mm. Although shorter and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S7, this year’s flagship will apparently be wider than the 2016 flagship as the 5.7-inch curved screen that is used on the Galaxy S8 is much wider than the smaller 5.1-inch flat screen used on the Galaxy S7.

With a rumored 6.2-inch curved display, the dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus are rumored to be 152.38 x 78.51 x 7.94mm. These measurements show that the premium model will be taller and wider compared to the Galaxy S7 edge, again due to the larger display.

While the images show the lack of a home button as rumored (the fingerprint scanner will be embedded under the display according to the latest rumors), there is a major caveat. The drawings show a microUSB 2.0 port which contradicts renders from case makers that show the Galaxy S8 sporting a USB Type-C port. With that in mind, you might want to take these dimensions with the proverbial grain of salt.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus could both be unveiled on February 26th and released during the week of April 17th.

  • Samsung Suddenly Reveal the New Video about Galaxy 8

Posted on January 16th, 2017 admin No comments

As we all know, the Galaxy S8 will launch soon this year, but until this week’s leaked images explosion Samsung had done a good job keeping its new flagship smartphone secret. Now, however, it appears the company wants to leak the phone itself. Samsung revealed a new video which introduced the Galaxy 8.

In a pair of new promotional videos for display division, Samsung has shown off new AMOLED panels which are widely expected to be used in the Galaxy S8. But more than this, it ends both commercials by showing the panels morph into an unnamed smartphone with very slim top and bottom bezels.

Yes, there remains a chance that this is complete coincidence and Samsung made a random handset that just so happens to look like a trio of leaks which all also just so happen to be identical yet wrong. But the odds against this seem small.

We won’t have to wait long to find out the official details and if Samsung avoids one potentially suicidal decision, then it won’t only be LG that needs to worry as even Apple’s radical 2017 iPhone redesign will be under pressure…

  • Google Confirms Two Flagship Android Wear Watches for the First Quarter for 2017

Posted on December 26th, 2016 admin No comments

Google has confirmed that it’s launching two flagship smartwatches in early 2017. They would be coming out with the debut of Android Wear 2.0. And Google will have the watches built by a third-party manufacturer that has the experience of releasing Wear Watches before.

According to Jeff Chang, Product manager of Android Wear at Google, Unlike the Pixel phones, the watches won’t be carrying Google or Pixel branding. Instead, they would be carrying the branding of the manufacturer who actually builds the watches – But Chang has yet to confirm who that is.

According to The Verge, Change also said that they are making an effort to convince consumers that smartwarches are still in demand and the new watches are part of the effort. He also promised that new Wear devices from other manufacturers are on the way for 2017.

Once the new Wearables have arrived, Google will rollout Android Wear 2.0 to existing smartwatches. But not every watch is getting the update, just those of the most recent ones will and it’s partly because some features on Android Wear 2.0, like Android Pay, require certain hardware.

Other than Android Pay, Android Wear 2.0 will feature standalone apps that can be used without having the watch connected to a smartphone, and Google’s new voice-controlled Assistant. It will support iPhone, so does Android Pay with iOS.

Chang also demonstrated Google’s optimistic attitude towards smartwatches, “This is a marathon, not a sprint. This category of product is here with us to stay.”
